sweet paint ad + skate posters

A skate poster. I'm liking the color overlay, but it needs some more work before it's done, definitely. I have a couple other skate things in the works; hopefully I'll be super productive tomorrow and get those done and posted.

My new press kit workspace :| This time I'm using Pendleton's color palette, and just kind of going with it. If this one doesn't fly....well, whatever. Probably gonna end up clean lines (who saw that one coming?) and maybe some "street art" illustrations with thick outlines. Perhaps some lost type thrown in there for funsies.

I'm still not sure about the middle of that spray paint logo. I hate to backtrack this far, but I'll probably make a different one of those. Especially since I got the punctuation wrong :/

Earth Day + portfolio

So I was going through my portfolio and the typography and the background that used to be on this was hideous. Plus Earth Day is next month, and I was thinking about maybe making something for it again? So anyway, I'm reworking this one a bit... which one?

The type isn't finished yet, but I really like both of the colors. Maybe I should do another one in purple or maroon or something and call it a series? Too redundant?

EDIT: like this maybe?

And while we're talking about vector girls, here's my finished Death spread:

Also, I made a new online portfolio on Cargo Collective! Thanks, Amy, for the heads up. It's still in progress, which is why there isn't a header yet, but I like it better than Carbonmade or Behance. Better image quality and more customization than Carbonmade, but not as batshit crazy as Behance. I keep trying to go there and add more to my page, but there's so much craziness! Too many options and requirements and things to think about.

Shopping bags

Just got out of the printmaking lab and they haven't turned out exactly the way I wanted. There's definitely a lot of imperfections, which I guess could add to a home-made look? I'm not sure I'm going to use them. Maybe for portfolio, if I can iron out the process by Thursday or so.

The digital aquarium seems to be constatly busy as far as printing goes. I'm probably going to have to camp out tomorrow morning to print out the tissue paper, but other than that and the creative brief I'm editing right now, I have everything figured out for tomorrow.

some things i'm liking right now:

Sunday

I have everything done for the specialty items except printing the tissue paper and shopping bags. I'm probably gonna try a bunch of different things for that, but I'm planning on ending up with the galerie logo printed in the center, and some sort of clear glossy feather accent either on the back or on the front with the logo. I think it's gonna turn out pretty well.
Anyway, Happy Easter!

getting down to the last couple days...

i have my website and sale posters printed out, and they look pretty good. i still have to figure out my shopping bag, tags, and tissue paper, though. Hopefully I can do the tags tonight while at Morgan's house for another productivity party :) We're also gonna mat a bunch of things for portfolio, so that'll be good.

portfoliooo

Today I'm printing out about half of my portfolio, and I'm going to try to mount them later today. Hopefully this way i won't freak out later about having nothing done...

Logo revision?

So it's pretty late in the game, but I was talking to My and she suggested I put "boutique" in the logo itself so it would be clear it wasn't an actual art gallery. I like it, though I'm going to have to go back through everything I've done this semester and change it, which will get annoying I bet. Opinions?

earth day poster and specialty item stufff

I changed the background colors to green instead of blue--I think this captures the green, earth-y feel of Earth Day, and it's a nice complement to the reds and oranges of her hair. The type still has a bit of tweaking to do, and I'm probably going to add some more shenanigans to her hair, but it's pretty much done.

The pattern for the tissue paper:
I still have to figure out how I'm going to print that, or if I need to make a stamp or something...

I'm going to make a sticker to go with it as well. I bought some window decal paper from Office Depot last weekend, which, at the time, sounded like a really original idea. Now, though, I can't really think of anything to do with it other than slapping the logo on there. Oh well.
I still plan on designing a website, but I think I'm going to have to take some more pictures this weekend first.

earth day poster

[so far] I still haven't come up with a tagline (clearly) and I'm not sure what's going on with the background, but I like the way this is coming along.
