sweet paint ad + skate posters

A skate poster. I'm liking the color overlay, but it needs some more work before it's done, definitely. I have a couple other skate things in the works; hopefully I'll be super productive tomorrow and get those done and posted.

My new press kit workspace :| This time I'm using Pendleton's color palette, and just kind of going with it. If this one doesn't fly....well, whatever. Probably gonna end up clean lines (who saw that one coming?) and maybe some "street art" illustrations with thick outlines. Perhaps some lost type thrown in there for funsies.

I'm still not sure about the middle of that spray paint logo. I hate to backtrack this far, but I'll probably make a different one of those. Especially since I got the punctuation wrong :/

skate potentials

a new logo or poster graphic direction: more clean and MODA-y, I think.

red fish, blue fish, kill me.

My Deep Sea background for the worksheet:

Pretty simple. That's probably going to be the easiest one, since you can't see much when it gets that deep. Really, if I were being completely accurate, I should just have put a black background, but I figured I should connect to the cards.

My in-progress Open Ocean background:

Not done yet. But still, pretty low-key. I'm gonna try to make that top right corner pretty impressive, but the rest is just gonna be those sun rays and the gradient.

These are the easy ones. The river and the coral reef....oh man. Those'll take a while.

EDIT: an update... the "finished" ocean pelagic and started demersal

This...is getting a little crazy.

Some more fish:

And, get ready for it: the first freshwater fish that actually looks half-decent:

So it turns out these take about 45 minutes each. No wonder this is such slow going.

more fish stuff

stilllllll working on these. I don't know why I thought 50 was a sane number of fish to illustrate..but now I already have them divided up, and the category with a bunch of extras that I could conceivable cut out is the tropical/coral reef fish, and I'm already mostly done with those, so I guess I'll just finish haha
I also still haven't started the huge habitat backgrounds I'm going to need for the worksheet I was supposed to have finished last week... I'm hoping to get some significant progress on that tomorrow, since it looks like I'm about to crash for tonight. Anyway, here's the fish I've done so far:

My favorite:

I have some half-ass backgrounds for these in the works so they can be categorized into the different habitats (freshwater, deep sea, demersal, coastal pelagic, and oceanic pelagic, if you were wondering). I'm still working out how I can make these into more of a game than just flashcards, so hit me up if you think of something.
